We’re happy to present to you our latest Lantern Collection premium offering. It is a delicate coffee with aroma of orange and grapefruit peel, medium-full body, creamy mouthfeel, and cane sugar and graham cracker flavor notes.
This coffee comes from a small community in the mountainous jungle region between the Peruvian Andes and Amazon. The coffee is grown between 1400 and 2100 meters above sea level. There are 46 families living in Mendocayoc. It takes farmers approximately 8 hours to travel to the closest municipality in Calca.
Mendocayoc does not have road access and it takes approximately 2 hours to hike from there to any road access. Coffee farmers still use mules to transport their coffee from their farms to the point of sale on the road. The average area of coffee production per farmer is 1.25 hectacres.
